Abstract

The article investigates the definitional criteria of the phenomenon of bullying (intentionality, repetition, power imbalance, social context) in relation to a case study, highlighting the practical difficulties in their interpretation and assessment. It also discuss¬es the typology of bullying based on the form of behavior: physical, verbal, relational, material, sexual, cyber, pointing out the limitations resulting from excessive focus on easily observable manifestations of the phenomenon, while overlooking the complexity of the sources of bullying behaviors. This approach facilitates the systematization of concepts and differentiating bullying from other forms of peer violence. Furthermore, it creates a link between conceptualization and its practical application, which seems particularly important given the high prevalence rates of bullying and the need to eliminate its severe and long-term effects. Theoretical and practical conclusions include the need for more complex theoretical models, advanced psychometric methods, and the development of intervention strategies that take into account the complexity of individual behaviors and the dynamics of the peer group.
