This article presents a four-element model of a psychologist’s work and its application in modern school. Particularly, it focuses on defining and describing the four basic categories of a psychologist's actions: monitoring, intervention, prevention, and promotion. An application of this model is described in reference to a case study of a gifted student. On one hand, the student could be a challenge for his teachers. On the other hand, the rules and social aspects of the school could be a challenge for the student and result in problems with studying and social functioning.
