As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Basic information

Psychology of Family and Education accept for publication original scientific papers (both empirical and theoretical), presentations of new psychological research tools and polemical dissertations in the field of educational psychology and related areas. Papers of this kind, accepted by reviewers, will be published in the first, main part of the magazine, called Psychological Papers.

Authors representing an interdisciplinary approach in thinking about education are invited to speak in the next, second part of each issue, devoted to the Cultural and Social Contexts of Education.

We promote the intellectual achievements of young researchers whose article are published in the reviewed section - Youth Forum.

Referring to the tradition of the journal, the Editorial Board remains open to interesting and socially important voices in the field of education, training and development support (Issues in Psychological Practice).

Psychology of Family and Education also publishes - in the Events, Polemics and Reviews - reviews, reports on scientific and social events as well as particularly important discussions from domestic and foreign press thematically related to the journal's profile.


Providing ORCID identifiers is required.

When submitting articles, the title page and the blinded version of the paper should be uploaded separately. Both files should follow the templates and detailed guidelines placed below.

Manuscript processing

  1. The manuscripts are sent together with the required statements and declarations through the ICI Publishers Panel system. The manuscripts should conform to the guidelines and requirements specified on the Psychology of Family and Education website.

  2. The first step of manuscript processing involves the verification of the manuscript’s topic, form, and content by the Editorial Board and the Academic Editorial Board the manuscript can be rejected or returned to the authors for corrections if it does not meet the journal’s guidelines and requirements.

  3. After a positive initial verification, the manuscript is sent for reviews. 

  4. The manuscripts are subjected to double-blind peer review by at least two experts outside of the authors’ affiliation, in accordance with the Best Practices in Academic Review (2011) published by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Poland. The reviewers are not allowed to use the content of the reviewed manuscripts in their own publications or teaching material prior to their publication. The reviewers make one of the following decisions regarding the manuscript: acceptance without revisions, acceptance after revisions, acceptance after revisions and additional review, or rejection.

  5. The authors are notified of the reviewers’ decisions and receive copies of the reviews. Next, they revise their manuscript according to the reviewers’ feedback and prepare a letter of response, addressing each of the reviewers’ remarks. Manuscripts can be sent to reviews more than once. The Editorial Board reserves the right to withdraw manuscripts in cases where the authors do not respond to the reviewers’ feedback without appropriate explanation. In cases of substantial discrepancy between the reviews, a super-reviewer is appointed. Positive reviews are required for manuscript publication.

  6.  After the manuscript is accepted, it undergoes in-house proofreading. The Editorial Board reserves the right to make linguistic changes to the contents of the manuscript.

  7. The total manuscript processing time depends on the scientific level it represents, its topic, the reviewers’ availability, and their decisions. It usually takes between 90 and 120 days from submission to online publication. Articles are organized within issues based on their order of acceptance for publication.

  8. The editorial office does not charge any fees for publishing the texts.
