The Authoritarianism of Young Polish Women. Are We Dealing with a Significant Phenomenon that Undermines Security?

Krzysztof Dziurzyński

Abstract

The subject of the article is authoritarianism and the perceptions about people who are in government. The research subject is to find the answer to the questions: what are the structures of the Pedagogy female students’ authoritarianism and what is their attitude toward the government? How complex is the psychosocial construct? And how strong are its internal connections? In this research, we used a survey consisting of nine questions related to two elements of thinking about the society and politics, as mentioned above. The interviewees had to respond to each question by choosing the answer closest to their beliefs. The research involved 123 young Polish women. Contrary to the expectations, no high level of authoritarianism nor positive attitude towards the government were recorded in the study group. However, only a weak connection between perceptions of those governing the state and authoritarianism was evident.
