Analysis of Challenges Encountered in the Implementation of Dual Degree Programs in Pedagogical Higher Education Institutions

Abstract

This article discusses the challenges to be faced by dual degree programs in pedagogical higher education institutions. This study highlights issues of curriculum mismatch, administrative complexities, and differences in students' learning profiles that impede the effectiveness of dual degree programs. The literature review, reports, and case studies analyze these issues with a view to offering various solutions. Principal strategies include strengthening inter-institutional collaborations, enabling better liaisons between universities, and offering specifically targeted university support services to students. The findings call for answers to these challenges regarding dual degree programs, which is central to the improvement of teacher education quality. The article ends with some recommendations for future studies focusing on the effects of such programs on the quality of teachers and the entire educational system in the long term.
