Abstrakt

Problemy z karmieniem, takie jak wybiórczość pokarmowa, unikanie jedzenia, lęk przed próbowaniem nowych produktów czy preferencje dotyczące sposobu prezentacji jedzenia, są powszechne wśród dzieci i młodzieży. Ich częstość w populacji ogólnej waha się od 2 do nawet 60%. W przypadku dzieci i młodzieży z zaburzeniami rozwoju trudności te są jeszcze bardziej nasilone i występują u 70–80% tej grupy. Poważne zaburzenia żywienia szacuje się na 1–5% wśród dzieci. Artykuł przybliża przegląd badań dotyczących problemów z karmieniem u dzieci i młodzieży z zaburzeniami ze spektrum autyzmu. Poruszono w nim przyczyny i mechanizmy nietypowych zachowań żywieniowych oraz potencjalne strategie wsparcia terapeutycznego.
